Research Computing are responsible for the advanced research computing infrastructure at the Norwich Bioscience Institutes (John  Innes Centre, Earlham Institute, Quadram Institute and The Sainsbury Laboratory) providing High Performance Computing (HPC), storage, middleware and application platforms, enabling World-class research in biological science.

Our engineers are skilled in a wide range of disciplines covering High Performance Computingstorage, virtualisation, private cloud, system development and administration, system procurement and data centre management.  We sit on the ‘same side of the bench‘ as our scientists, and actively contribute to research output.

We also evaluate new hardware/software, with a particular interest in cutting-edge approaches to energy-efficient processing.
