How to borrow

Take the books you want to borrow, together with your University membership card, to the Issue Desk where they will be issued to you and the date for returning stamped.

Please note:
  • The date by which you must return each book is stamped on the label inside it. You may be asked to return your books earlier if they are needed by someone else
  • You are responsible for all books issued on your card. Do not pass them on to other people or lend your card to others.
  • You will not be able to borrow if you have overdue books or unpaid fines.

Fines

If you return books or journals after the date stamped inside you will be fined 20p per item per day. Please note that the fine on late returned recalled items is 40p per day.

Renewals

You can renew your library books up to six times by taking your library card to the Issue Desk or by telephoning the Library on 0151 794 5411 and quoting your card number.

You can also renew your own books online using Innopac.

Overdue books cannot be renewed on-line and a book requested by another user cannot be renewed at all.

Returning items

You should return your books to the Issue Desk in the POL Library. Please wait while books are removed from your record. Please note, books borrowed from the POL library must be returned to the POL Library.
